Fall is my all time favorite time in the Valley. (Yes, I am a Valley Girl). Our weather isn’t quiet cold yet and the leaves definitely are not turning here, but the lighting just feels warmer. The days get shorter which is actually probably my least favorite time but it signals to my psyche that THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE! I love the build up of the holidays and the eagerness to make plans, take family photos, cook more foods with squash and pumpkin and work a lot. It’s kind of what the rest of the year is just waiting for in my opinion. But thats not a popular opinion either.
Any who, the real reason ya’ll are here is to see what the must haves are for fall. It’s not quiet Halloween and spooky but also not quiet covered in turkeys. It’s just the turning of the leaves. Or for us, the swapping out of the pillows. This is when we start hanging wreaths and putting out more throw blankets. I’ve actually found way too many amazing wreathes this season. I’m loving the dried plant feel but also the sexy gold casted wreath that Opal House put out at Target. And don’t hate me for saying it but I am just tired of glass pumpkins. I have seen too many so I wanted to show you an alternative I found at Pottery Barn made of a stone and metal stem.

I apologize now for not doing this way sooner but lets just say that keeping up with instagram, life, actual clients, AND a full blown website is no part time job! These items are things I have handpicked and really do love together.
In this case, I wanted to focus on my living room. This room is the first room our guests walk into and as of this morning, I have been dreaming of changing out my tv media console. Since I don’t have it in our budget this month, i’m here to feed my dreams via you guys! I started with this black and glass console that I actually went and looked at at Living Spaces this morning. (Yes I actually drove 30 minutes just to satisfy my craving lol) . When I was there I also saw this gorgeous tall mirror that this image of it does absolutely no justice. It has hand carved wood detailing on the trim and is more of a light cream wood instead of a grey. THIS IS WHY IS IS SO IMPORTANT TO SEE THINGS IN PERSON! If you have a LS by you, go check it out. If not, at least go to the website and see some close up images.
I’ve also been wanting to switch out my rug in my living room. We got the current rug as just a good deal in the moment right when we were moving in. I knew it wouldn’t be a long term rug but the fact we have had it for a year surprises me. I actually really like the current rug but its dirty now and also creates a lot of dust and lose fibers that I could live without. So I looked for something low pile and that would feel bright. This rug seems light enough to be great underneath our grey sofa and this black media console.
